Down For Greens began with Nick.

When his younger brother, Dr. Blake Butler, DC, watched Nick navigate life with Down syndrome, he saw what most supplement companies miss. The Down syndrome community has specific, well-documented nutritional needs, and almost nothing on the shelf is built around them. So Blake formulated a greens blend that is. The result is a practitioner-made nutraceutical, developed in partnership with a plant-based chef, grounded in functional medicine, and built for the way Down syndrome bodies actually work.

Head of Why We Started: Nick

Nick is Dr. Blake Butler's big brother, and the reason Down For Greens exists. Nick has Down syndrome, and he is the blueprint behind every ingredient decision in our formula. Every scoop is designed around the nutrients his body uses well, and the flavors he actually reaches for in the morning.

Our Founder: Dr. Blake Butler, DC

Dr. Blake Butler is a functional medicine physician specializing in gut health, hormones, and metabolic wellness. He serves as Associate Director and Functional Medicine Physician at a leading integrative health practice, and completed post-doctoral training through The Institute for Functional Medicine, the field's preeminent credentialing body.

Blake's work is built on a root-cause approach, the idea that every system in the body influences every other one, and that the right nutrition is foundational to the rest.

His commitment to the Down syndrome community is personal. Growing up alongside Nick gave Blake a lifelong commitment to advocacy, inclusion, and the pursuit of better daily wellness for individuals with Down syndrome and the families who love them. He serves on the Executive Board of GiGi's Playhouse the network of Down Syndrome Achievement Centers, and Down For Greens contributes 2% of every order in support of their work.

Our Culinary Formulator: Meredith Baird Figone

Meredith Baird Figone is a plant-based chef, author, and the founder of Nucifera Body. She has spent her career creating approachable, nourishing recipes that use real ingredients and taste like food people actually want to eat.

Meredith led the flavor, texture, and family-friendly drinkability of Down For Greens. Because clinical thoughtfulness matters only if the formula actually gets consumed. Every day.
